Everything you need to know about Knitmus

Knitmus uses AI to analyse your sweater photo, extracting colours, design elements, motifs, and construction details. It then generates a complete raglan pullover pattern with stitch counts calculated from your personal gauge and body measurements.

Knitmus generates patterns for three skill levels: beginner (with detailed explanations of every technique), intermediate (standard pattern notation), and expert (concise instructions). You choose your level when generating the pattern.

Knitmus is available in Norwegian, UK English, and US English. Each language version includes region-specific yarn recommendations and measurement units (metric or imperial).

Pattern generation and preview are free for everyone. To save and download patterns, you can either purchase a single pattern for £1.99 or subscribe for unlimited patterns at £4.99 per month.

Knitmus supports six neckline types: crew neck, V-neck, turtleneck, funnel neck, mock turtleneck, and boat neck. Each neckline includes type-specific knitting instructions with accurate stitch calculations.

Yes. After the AI analyses your photo, you can chat with the AI design assistant to change colours, swap motifs, adjust text, and fine-tune every detail. You see a live preview of changes before generating the final pattern.

No, and that's by design. Your photo is used purely as inspiration. Knitmus creates a brand-new, original pattern that captures the spirit of the design — colours, motifs, and overall style — without copying it. This means every pattern you receive is uniquely yours, and you avoid any copyright concerns associated with reproducing someone else's work.
